Pop Cherry – World Class Act from Toronto Article by John David Hart

So you wanna meet some talented and fun performers? Pop Cherry from Toronto Canada. The first time I went to see this band I thought I was in Las Vegas. Joey Varone, front man for the group, enters the audience and either gets you to sing with him or he sings romantically to women who melt in front of this stunningly handsome man and great singer.

The band covers the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and others from the rock world bang on and their own material is red hot man. The band has an incredible album ready for release in the new year when the snow will probably be so deep it’ll be better to stay inside and listen to tunes and do what we do inside our homes to enjoy life.

Pop Cherry is comprised of not only great musicians but really smart business people and they have a world class recording studio of their own where they produce everything. I was shocked when they asked me to come and check out their little studio. Right ! I’ve seen some pretty nice recording facilities and this is nothing short of the best but that is how Pop Cherry does everything. They stand with solid footing on the ground of Rock and can entice any audience and get the spirits flowing. These guys are like the perfect rock band. They are not hung up on booze and drugs and unstable, exactly the opposite, in fact, Joey Varone actually helps cancer patients and has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I have ever met. I try and call him and pump him up for their shows and he loves it. I tell them the truth about their music and performance, they’re amazing and Joey reminds me of a performer like Dean Martin or the Las Vegas style of interacting directly with the audiences . Very very entertaining and captivating.

All I can really tell you about the new album is it is way beyond what I expected and it should cook up the airwaves of radio when aired.

There is no doubt in this industry that connections and positive attitudes win. I guess that’s where the saying, It’s all good came from.
